Lazy, Hazy, Dog Days of...January?

The temperature may be hovering around 0 degrees outside, but that doesn't mean you can't be lazy and sleepy inside.

No, no. The couch wasn't enough. He had to put his head on the pillow, too! You can never be too comfortable, I guess.

I know we've said this many times on our blog before, but he really is a fantastic dog.

Basement Update

Here are some recent updates on our laundry room modernization project.

As previously mentioned, it used to be ugly white paneling with a dark upper and lower cabinets. We took down the upper cabinets and the next step is to paint them white, put in the ceiling and then finish the floor.

We're just happy to get rid of all that paneling! Oh yeah, I almost forgot the fun part...taping and sanding the drywall. That should be fun!

Amazon Watching

I was just emptying the dishwasher and randomly had Rachael Ray on the TV. She had a guest that brought in a bunch of different Amazon animals. Knowing that I have to keep an eye on Eko, I walked into the family room and found this!He knows when animals/dogs are on the TV and it's hilarious to see him stop what he is doing and watch. Here, he is only a few inches from the TV. I'm not sure what animal caught his eye, but when I walked in there was a 9 foot snake. He wasn't as interested in the snake, because I only had moments to get the camera and take the photo before he walked away. What a funny dog, maybe I should keep animal planet on the TV when I leave the room. Then I'd be guaranteed he wouldn't get into trouble!

pLay date

We had a fabulous time this morning/afternoon, lounging around with cousin Lucius and Oliver. It seems they pLay really well together.

Brianna...Meet your great-grandpa Bill!

My mom, Eme, Brianna and I ventured out and traveled down to Mankato yesterday to visit Brianna's great-grandpa Bill Carlson. The temperature was hovering around -7, but it was warm in the VUE and Brianna did great!

He was very happy to meet and hold Brianna! In February, we will be back to celebrate his 95th birthday!

Say Good-bye to Billy and Rubin

Even though Brianna had normal levels of Billyrubin she was in the high range and the doctors wanted to keep tabs on her. So we had to get blood samples Friday (New Year's) and Saturday mornings to monitor her levels. She got the all clear Saturday afternoon as she was basking in the sun to elevate her vitamin D.



Thankfully the sun can be soaked up inside as it was about -5 degrees outside on Saturday!



Of course Grandma had to help, too!

New Year's Eve

Since New Year's Eve was our first day home from the hospital we were pretty tuckered out. But we decided to make a quick stop at Jon and Heidi's to show off Brianna to our friends.

And, after a long stay at the hospital, the trek home, meeting cousins Oliver and Lucius, and a trip to Jon and Heidi's...we were tuckered out. We didn't quite make it to midnight to ring in the new year, but there's always next year, right?
