I know you're supposed to be careful with a dog around a baby, and we are. Yet to get Eko more familiar with Brianna and her things, we let him make his way (carefully) right next to her. The other morning, this is where he ended up. How can you resist these two... they will be unstoppable once they master their puppy dog face!
On Friday Brianna was trying to think of something fun to do this weekend. She couldn't quite put her ideas into words, so we deciphered her hand motions and decided she wanted to soak in some inside fun at the Minnesota History Center in St. Paul.
Our local library has free passes to area museums so we checked to see if there were any available for the History Center. Unfortunately, they were all gone. However there were a couple Zoo passes. Sorry Brianna, History will have to wait. But it was a lot of fun to see all the animals!
I weighed Brianna this morning and she came in at 14 pounds... 14!! Her length measured 23.5 inches. It's amazing how fast babies grow. 0-3 month clothes are already getting tight or no longer fit! Each day is a new adventure and a fantastic blessing!
Thanks Mom and Dad for letting me hang out at your house on Saturday. I know Brianna loved spending time with Grandma and Grandpa. Look how comfy she is!!
Oliver came over last Thursday to hang out with me and cousin Brianna. I asked him to pick out a book and he spent some time looking on my kids book shelf for a good book. He was pretty quiet for a while, then all of a sudden he kept repeating, "no pictures, no pictures... where pictures?" Of course, a kids book isn't a kids book at all without pictures. The book he picked out was Plato's The Trial and Death of Socrates. It's one of those books that never left the shelf because I didn't have anywhere else to put it. I guess you could say I'm trying to teach the kids that come to my house about philosophy. A little philosophy never hurt anyone, but not as enticing as pictures!
A huge thanks to our doctor for a fantastic delivery of our little girl. He was wonderful. I had an appointment today and it was the first time I could get a picture of him holding Brianna. Please excuse his look. I believe they said he had a delivery early this morning by c-section and I don't think he went home!
I always appreciated his sense of humor. Each visit we would joke about something, today was no exception. Our interaction regarding Brianna's outfit went something like this... Dr. - There she is... it seems there is a monkey on her shirt. Eme - Yes and owl's on her pants. I guess she was conflicted this morning. Dr. - So... that makes her a wise trouble maker... have fun. Eme - If we have a trouble maker, I supposed I'd want her to be wise. Dr. - Sure, so she never gets caught!
I was trying to take some pictures of Brianna, but every time I got the angle I wanted, she somehow knew and turned the other way. I wonder what caught her eye this time?
